Since 2014, prolific local developer California Landmark Group has sought entitlements for the construction of a six-story building at 10306-10330 Santa Monica Boulevard. The project, which would replace five vacant apartment buildings, would consist of 91 one-, two-, and three-bedroom dwellings - including 11 very low-income affordable units - above parking for 68 vehicles.
Abramson Architects is designing the proposed development, which is depicted in renderings as a contemporary low-rise structure clad in textured concrete and dark grey plaster. Floor plans show a variety of open space amenities, including a fitness center, a central courtyard, and a rooftop deck.
A staff report recommends that the City Planning Commission should sign off entitlements requested by California Landmark Group and certify the project's environmental study.
Pending approvals, construction is anticipated to occur over approximately 18 months. A groundbreaking date has not been announced.
The project follows a number of low-rise apartment buildings that have recently been built near Century City, where construction is now underway for two 46-story condo towers adjacent to the Century Plaza Hotel.
In addition to the Santa Monica Boulevard development, California Landmark Group is planning numerous projects in the Palms community.
