At its meeting last week, the Venice Neighborhood Council's Land Use & Planning Committee reviewed a proposal to construct a mixed-use development just north of iconic Abbot Kinney Boulevard.
Venice and Electric - named for its location at the corner of Venice Boulevard and Electric Avenue - the proposed development calls for replacing an auto body repair shop with a three-story building containing approximately 25,000 square feet of software, music, film, and video manufacturing space above 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail uses and two levels of basement parking for 140 vehicles.
Renderings of the low-rise structure, which is being designed by Reed Architectural Group, show that it would greet its namesake intersection with a brick facade. Plans call for saw tooth windows on the uppermost floor, as well as an open roof deck.
The project applicant is listed as an entity called Electric Pointe, LP.
