Earlier today, the Los Angeles City Council voted to approve plans for The Angel Apartments, a proposed veterans supportive housing complex in the North Hills neighborhood. The project, slated for a property at 8547-8549 N. Sepulveda Boulevard, calls for the construction of a four-story edifice containing 54 residential units - priced for low- and extremely low-income households - with on-site supportive services and a 20-car garage.
The Angel, designed by Gonzalez Goodale Architects, is also slated to include two courtyards, a community garden, a rooftop deck, and other open-space amenities. The project has obtained approximately $6.7 million in funding through Measure HHH and a grant from Kaiser Permanente. The total estimated budget for The Angel is $28.2 million.
Other projects from LA Family Housing include the Main Street and Summit View Apartments, now under construction in South Los Angeles and Lake View Terrace, and proposed buildings in Sylmar and Panorama City.
